When it comes to educating young players, the FC Twente Football Academy has a good reputation. The  regional program not only provides the lifeblood of FC Twente, but also that of Heracles Almelo and Go Ahead Eagles. These clubs have worked together with FC Twente in establishing this football academy, which now serves to protect and develop the quality of football in the east of The Netherlands.

Protecting and developing the quality of football is one of the main aims of the FC Twente Football Academy. Another important feature of the program involves its much broader responsibility as a part of society as a whole. The FC Twente Football Academy therefore pays a great deal of attention to education, respecting societal norms and values as well as teaching the players ample discipline. That way we’re not only making better footballers out of them, but we’re also giving them a much better shot in society.

Where the quality of the youth program is concerned, our aim is to have as many home-grown players as possible progress to A-selections. In doing so, we aim to  adopt an enterprising and attacking style of football, pinning the opposition down  in their own half.. In order to achieve this, it is of the utmost importance that everyone involved in the program understands its aims and is willing to work together in achieving them.

Today, the FC Twente Football Academy has quite a number of teams playing in various leagues and in various age groups. In order to nurture these players in the best way possible, we’ve established a professional technical framework, creating the best conditions for players to develop themselves both on and off the pitch. Along with this framework, we’ve also established a quality system which serves to protect, improve and further their development.

In recent years several teams have won their respective leagues at the highest level. Our program has also been awarded best youth program of the year in football.
